United States Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) will be the featured speaker at the Greene County Republican Committee’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner on Friday, January 19 at the Paragould Community Center, 3404 Linwood Drive, Paragould.
A first-term Senator from Yell County, Cotton currently sits on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, where he chairs the Economic Policy Subcommittee, and the Senate Committee on Armed Services, where he chairs the Air Land Power Subcommittee. Senator Cotton graduated from Dardanelle High School, Harvard University and Harvard Law School. In 2005, following a clerkship with the U.S. Court of Appeals and time in a private law practice, he enlisted in the United States Army. Senator Cotton then served nearly five years on active duty, serving in Iraq with the 101st Airborne and in Afghanistan with a Provincial Reconstruction Team. Between his two combat tours, Senator Cotton served with The Old Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. His military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and Ranger Tab. “It is an honor to have Senator Cotton attend our Lincoln Day Dinner,” Greene County Republican Committee Chairman Anita Wells said. “I look forward to hearing an update on current affairs in Washington and the direction of our nation.” The Greene County Republican Committee’s Lincoln Day Dinner is open to the public. There will be a VIP Reception with Senator Cotton beginning at 5:30 p.m. Silent auction bidding will also begin at 5:30 with dinner and program at 6:30 p.m. Individual tickets are $50 with table sponsorship available for $400 (includes eight dinner tickets.)
