Paragould, AR – To celebrate National Library Week April 9-15, the Greene County Republican Committee donated a book chronicling the history, effort, and success of the Republican Party of Arkansas to the Greene County Public Library. The book, “The Heroes and Heroines of the Journey: The Builders of the Modern Republican Party of Arkansas,” authored by Dr. Ken Coon, is a historical look at the political and communal endeavors of Republicans across the state.
Republican Party of Arkansas Chairman Doyle Webb applauded this gesture: “The success and growth of the GOP is largely in part because of our local committees. We are proud of their work and glad to see them share the history of this transformative occasion within the community.” The Greene County Republican Committee hopes that the service of this book can educate Arkansans on the history of the GOP, and pay homage to the commitment of Republican community leaders that have donated their time and effort to improve the lives of Arkansans. Greene County Republican Committee Chair Anita Wells expressed her enthusiasm in stating, ”I hope this book will be a great addition to the library for those interested in learning how the Republican Party of Arkansas has evolved.” Additional copies of “The Heroes and Heroines of the Journey: The Builders of the Modern Republican Party of Arkansas” have been donated to Paragould High School, Greene County Tech High School, Marmaduke High School and Crowley’s Ridge Academy. The books are currently available for purchase for $50.00 at the Republican Party of Arkansas’ website www.ArkansasGOP.orgor by visiting the RPA Headquarters in Little Rock.
